THE PERFECT BAKERY STYLE CIABATTA BREAD RECIPE

Ciabatta breads are one of my favorite breads to make and enjoy with my family. There are many reasons why people often love ciabatta bread over regular french bread. Some reasons include the unique texture of airy interior with a chewy crust, the versatility of uses such as making an excellent sandwich bread or great dipping bread in olive oil or soup.  

Here's a simple and delicious ciabatta bread recipe for you:

INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup lukewarm water
  • Olive oil (for greasing)
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. Gradually add the lukewarm water to the dry ingredients while stirring with a wooden spoon or your hands. Mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
  4. Once the dough has risen, generously flour a clean surface and turn the dough out onto it. Be careful not to deflate the dough too much.
  5. Gently stretch and fold the dough over itself a few times to create a rectangular shape. You can use a bench scraper or spatula to help with this process.
  6. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly grease it with olive oil. Transfer the shaped dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rise for another 30-45 minutes.
  8. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  9. Once the dough has risen again, carefully transfer it to the preheated oven. You can use a peel or the parchment paper to lift it onto a baking stone or place the baking sheet directly in the oven.
  10. Bake the ciabatta bread for 20-25 minutes or until it turns golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  11. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
